Bar and changing room update

Dear member,

Following the government’s latest update on Covid-19 on Tuesday, we wanted to let our members know how the new rules would affect the bar area of the club.

From Thursday 24th September, wearing of masks is mandatory when entering the bar and moving from your table to the toilet. Masks can be removed when you are seated at your table.

The rule of six still applies at the club – up to six people can sit at a table together but must not mix with other groups.

Ordering of drinks is via table service only. You must be seated at a table and a member of staff will take your order and bring it to your table.

The bar is still operating a cashless policy.

You must continue to register your contact details each day you visit the bar. If you are having a drink after you have played squash, you do not have to register again in the bar as long as both players names are on the court booking system.

Update to changing room use.

Two players from the same bubble, who have just played a match are now allowed to use the changing room at the same time. This means that only two players are allowed in the changing room at any one time.

To ensure that this works well for all players, please stick to the following guidance:

  • Arrive in your squash gear no earlier than 5 minutes before your court time and change into your squash shoes in the corridor.
  • Use the hand sanitiser and take your squash bag, drinks bottle and towel on court with you – the racks in the changing rooms are only for use after you have finished playing and showering.
  • When you have finished playing, remove all items from the court and carry out the cleaning and sanitising steps.
  • Proceed to the changing room - or leave the building if you are going home - following the one-way system. Move the sign on the changing room door to ‘Occupied’.
  • Shower immediately after your game. You have 30 mins to shower and change before players from the other court will be coming into the changing room.
  • Bags may be left on the rack in the changing room after you have showered and changed.
  • Move the sign on the changing room door to ‘Vacant’.
  • Clean down all touch points as usual using the spray and paper towel provided.
  • Exit the changing room via the fire exit and please ensure that it closes fully behind you.

By following these rules, it should help to keep all of our members and staff safe and we can continue to enjoy playing squash and using the bar.

Thank you for your continued support.

The committee
